Debra is a self-taught mixed media artist who is truly honoured to be participating in the remarkable 40th Anniversary of the ‘Images Thanksgiving Studio Tour’! Her unusual work continues to reflect a desire to create tempting textures. Each piece is an intuitively blended composition of diverse elements including metal, wood, leather, stone, crystals and many other intriguing materials and found objects. Combinations of the various media result in unique tactile pieces that stimulate the imagination, and she is always searching for new treasures to inspire the joy of experimentation and play. The title of each assemblage is also carefully considered as it can add another thought- provoking component to the presentation. “Much of my work is quite open to individual interpretation and I love listening to the perspectives others have when they view it.
