Denise McQuarrie
Being in the field of textile art for many years has been and will continue to be a journey of exploration and experimentation. I find most of my inspiration from nature. You can see this reflected in the patterns of leaves, flowers etc that I use to embellish my unique garments made with the finest of fabrics. I use silk, rayon, linen and cotton as well as high quality fleece made in Quebec. Incorporating hand painting, dyes, silkscreen, embroidery or removing colour through discharging dye creates one of a kind fabrics. Sometimes I find commercial fabric that is so beautiful and inspiring it begs to be taken back to my studio to be turned into something wonderful. My work can be found at Woodside Pottery and Gallery Craighurst year round. I welcome you to this website throughout the year and I will keep it updated with what is new and available, as there is always something new!
