Kathryn Kaiser is a figurative artist & designer living outside the village of Coldwater, Ontario. Largely self-taught, Kathryn has been painting for a handful of years now. Using light and colour in an impressionistic manner she paints pieces that are sensitive, intuitive and thought provoking. Her preferred subject matter is human form, and her prime focus is expressing story. Her work is emotionally charged and often reflect an aspect of the human condition. The artist’s medium of choice is oil, but she also works in acrylic and dry media, and is always looking to experiment with new materials. Her creative influences are mainly expressive figurative artists like Jenny Savillle, Peter Doig, John Hartman and Chris Gwaltney. Kathryn is a board member of ODAC (Orillia District Arts Council). She is an active member of OMAH in Orillia, MacLaren Art Centre in Barrie and Quest Art in Midland ON. Kathryn is happy to return for the second year to the Images Thanksgiving Studio Tour, in her own studio. Verity Blue Studio is located just outside the village of Coldwater, on almost fifty acres acres of bush with trails. We would like to acknowledge that this land is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg, Huron-Wendat and Odawa people. This is Robinson-Huron and Williams treaty territory.
