Jan Novak

Jan is an award winning photographer with a unique collection of landscapes, architecture and nature from around the globe.  Jan discovered a passion for photography during his childhood and continues to expand his creativity by capturing images that inspire “you” the viewer.
Whether travelling via foot, kayak or bicycle Jan’s focus is capturing the moment of exposure that tells you a story or inspires you to envision that moment and will draw your mind into the location. Patience with lighting, reflection, mood and angle always add an interesting challenge when discovering a new destination to capture the perfect scene and setting that will transform into an outstanding image.
His original photographs can be rendered in Colour, Fine Art Black and White, Sepia and Watercolour. Segments of Jan’s portfolio are on display at selected Ontario Art Galleries, Horseshoe Resort – The Inn, corporate offices and by interior design companies. His many awards and recognitions range from competitions as far away as Frankfurt, San Francisco, New York, Montreal, Toronto, Niagara Falls and locally in Midland, Barrie, Orillia and Collingwood.

Jan and his spouse Tamara, own and operate JDN Photography Canada studio and a gallery in Horseshoe Valley that is open to the public all year around.
His focus is promoting the Arts and Culture through out the region along with his involvement in various groups and organizations in Ontario. Jan is the chair of the 2012 Images Thanksgiving Studio Tour; a highly successful and juried art show in the Oro Medonte Township.
